Me and You and Nancy Drew Episode 025: Movie 04: Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (1939)
In this episode, Meghan and Colleen discuss closet windows, combusting bicycles, and Frisch’s Big Boy™, as well as the actual contents of Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (1939)!
CONTENT NOTE: This movie (and our discussion thereof) contains mentions of suicide and suicide notes (though, within the plot, no actual suicide or suicide note are present). Take care of yourself, and if you need to skip this episode, we understand!
Corrections: When discussing the YA book There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins (the title of which was not remembered while recording, so here it is in the show notes), Colleen says “CET” when they meant “CTE.”
This time, we recorded our predictions before the movie, then recorded a watch-along movie commentary track (which you can listen to while watching the movie for free on YouTube), with our commentary starting at 15:59 and continuing until 1:20:38. So if you don’t want to hear that part, you can absolutely listen to just the first sixteen minutes, then skip to the 1:20:38 timestamp to hear our after-the-movie impressions and segments! Leave a review or write in on our website to let us know whether you prefer how we podcasted about Movie 1 or Movies 2-4, so that we know what listeners prefer for our future coverage of other movies/TV episodes! :)
